Coolie or Technologist?
Thursday, June 30th, 2005There was once my lecturer (IT lecturer) told us, "Technology is bullshit", and a long story supporting this statement (will include the story in my next blog, it’s late now…), and telling us "technology" is just a kind of disease that cannot be cured. So if this statement is proven to be true, then are technologists the "germ carriers" or "infectors"?
I doubt ’bout this statement. Today I’ve all my experience captured using my aunt Motorola V3 phone. Digital camera built into a phone is the revolution of technology, point no.1. Too bad, my hp is lousy enough, no infrared, no bluetooth, no usb port etc etc, so there’s no way for me to transfer any data into the phone. Thanks to Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), I can store those photo into it before transferring to my laptop, point no.2. No cable, how am I gonna transfer? Another revolution of technology, an improvement of communication, "Bluetooth" saves my day. All I need to do is to establish a connection and then get the photos transfered, point no.3.
3 solid points supporting my point of view, "technology" is not crap. "Technology" changes everything…anything else. Before that I was thinking to become a coolie after I graduated (after knowing technology is bullshit…) instead of technologist, but now once again I’m doubt ’bout my decision, I’m blurred, I’m confused and I’m lost.
What should I do?
