Acknowledgement

Tuesday, September 27th, 2005

17 years down the road of education, had my last event in my tertiary education yesterday (which is a presentation), I’m finally unofficially GRADUATED!!! Starting from kindergarten right up to college, each level is gettin’ tougher and strenuous, it’s not easy to get thru three and a half years of college life, and I hereby would like to thankz all parties who have directly and indirectly involved in my college life.

First and foremost I would like to express my gratitude to my parents for their support in different aspects, from monetary to morale support. Their affection keeps me goin’ thru all hindrance and reach my finishing point. Of course I appreciate the most when they back me up whenever I play truant, keep me from being barred for the exam =)

Not forgetting my brother, always givin’ me guidance on how to stand still on my point and argue with the lecturer juz to get extra 1 or 2 marks in my class test. (No doubt I’m not correct all the time)

Secondly would be my fellow roommates (or my gang), eugene and wei chuan. Thanks for the companion for goin’ teh-tarik session during class hour (at least I’m not skippin’ class alone), yam cha session at the balcony all nightlong (usually 2am ’til 7am), and the time we had for network gaming (trainin’ me to be an expert gamer, but too bad I’m not really talented for that).

Not missin’ out my housemate, min chuan who is accounted to the most important part of my daily routine, i.e. drivin’ us out for dinner, or lendin’ us his car to go out. LOL~~~!! Dun laugh, his generosity saved us from lots of hassle and the convenience we had is all becuz of his greatness, especially when we wanted to go mamak in the middle of the nite. Besides being a transporter, sometimes he cheers us up too. How izzit so? Simple, he juz make fun of wei chuan (or bully him) will cause us to burst into laughter…ROFL~~~~~~~~!!!!! (Sorry wei chuan I’m not intended to mention ’bout it, but I juz wanna spell out the truth…….LOL~~~!! can’t stop laughing…..)

Followed by APIIT, I wanna thank you for everythin’ I learnt (*the term APIIT encompassed a lot of aspects). First will be the pressure given, force me to learn whatever I need to know in order to accomplish my accountability as a student. Pls dun get me wrong, I dun mean your lectures or syllabi anyway. I’m not being ungrateful, but that’s simply the truth, 99% of my knowledge is gained from external source, includin’ the "tutorial" given by my friends.

Next thing is the APIIT cafeteria. Thankz for the place provided for us to refreshen ourselves during class (hmmm…), and now I’ve finally understood how’s the taste of food when it’s depicted as "sucks". But somehow I still show my gratitude here, at least the food kept me survive for three and a half years.

An unforgettable person in APIIT, Mr. Kalai who is one of our lecturer, somewhat I really wanna thank him. Being a bad example of lecturer (I reckon he’s the worst), I can fully utilize the facility of sending feedback to complain him. His existence has spice up our college life, from annoyance to laughter. His childish attitude made us irritated, and his stupidity sometimes turn up to be jokes among us.

Furthermore, I would like to thank the nearby mamak stalls (those around Sri Petaling, Happy Garden and OUG), supplying food for me almost every nite, and provide a comfortable place for mamak talk which comprises of gossip, an inevitable issue, but mostly are jokes. Nevertheless, mamak indirectly contributed lots of unwanted fat around my tummy. GRRR….thankz to mamak, now my belly occupied 60% of my body weight….*sob sob*

Most important of all, what’s kept my free time occupied most of the time is contributed by Hong Kong TVB. Indeed the drama make my life more meaningful during my off-peak season (when I’ve no project), otherwise I’d not know what to do to get rid of the emptiness…=/ Certainly, bit torrent plays an important role when it comes to downloading of drama, and thankz guys for your kindness to share the latest episode =D

Last but not least, I appreciate the service provided by IM, such as MSN Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger, allowin’ me to chat with my buddies whenever I’m bored, and even enablin’ me to get in touch with friends across the ocean easily. Sorry ICQ, your time is over, perhaps you should retire =)

Not sure whether I’ve left out anyone else. Those name whom is not here doesn’t mean that I dun appreciate your effort. I treasure any form of contribution in life. Once again, THANKZ EVERYONE!!!

Belated Mooncake Festival

Tuesday, September 20th, 2005

Three and a half years in APIIT, I’ve comprehend its culture and very familiar with it. APIIT advertise that they have dedicated lecturers,  comprehensive syllabi, talented students, various awards and etc. Fine, what I can say is all these are NOT TRUE and apparently they’re boasting ’bout it. Eventually I found out a unique characteristic of APIIT, and they are pretty famous for it…

EXTENSION~~~!!!

Yes, indeed they’re well-known for extension. If a project due next week, we’ll be enjoyin’ right thru ’til the deadline. Needless to say, we’re dang confident that the lecturer will give extension. So why worry? LOL~~~!

Being an APIIT student, I was influenced by its ethos. Due to the time i sacrifice for projects and examination, my celebration for mooncake festival this year has been postponed. It’s supposed to be on Sunday, but everyone is busy for the paper on Monday so none of my friends cares ’bout it.

Juz had a red bean mooncake at the playground in my apartment with my roommates. So today’s considered as the "belated mooncake festival" celebration for us. Fairly cloudy tonite, juz saw a blurry moon up there but at least we had a good time there.

No one aware that we haven’t study for tomorrow’s paper. T_T

Even a simple celebration requires "extension". Izzit a vogue in APIIT, or it’s a crisis in my time concept? Dun ask me…

* Note : For those who doesn’t know what’s APIIT is all about, dun worry. It’s the college where I studied right after I leave secondary school. For further information, please visit the website http://www.apiit.edu.my. =D

Mysterious place of a house

Thursday, September 15th, 2005

Nope it’s not only my house. There’s a place in everyone’s house where we seldom go, or totally not even once. Which corner izzit? Hmmm…the sauna room…oops, nope I’m talkin’ ’bout a dark place beneath the roof but above the ceiling, a place you can’t reach without a ladder.

Last Saturday mornin’ went home from breakfast, found that the water supply for one of the bathroom is interrupted. From basin to shower pipe, they’re all clogged. What to do? It’s all the piping from the main water tank (or known as tangki) problem. Gotta rectify it from the source.

Grab a ladder from the store room and place below the ceiling. There is an "entrance" for it. It’s been a long time since someone been inside, cuz everyone was busy and the main reason, there’s nothing interesting in there. Once upon a time my uncle told me that it’s like an oven there, very hot. That time I was a kid, too young to go up there or even climb a ladder=p

This time I volunteer to go up, but my dad said I’m not "qualified" yet. He went up with all the tools, trying to loosen up the mud which is stuck inside the water pipe for more than ten years. Can’t help, I stood on the ladder with the top part of my body up in there, exploring the "structure" inside and wait for instruction. It’s so dusty, especially spider web everywhere, dirt and even leaf (wonder how it gets in). I observed that they’re all pieces of wood supporting each other, and the ceiling is right at the bottom.

I noticed that each time my dad moves around, he steps on the wood, which is approximately 10cm wide, then i remembered there was once a technician been up there and accidentally stepped on the ceiling, and ended up with a mess. Cuz replacing a ceiling is not a simple task. Now I realized why I’m not qualified yet=)

Indeed it’s hot, dang hot. I won’t depict it as an oven, but the feelin’ I have is, it’s like a sauna. I can feel the temperature is almost the same, it’s stuffy, no circulation of air except from the gap between tiles. Even if I was standin’ at the "entrance", but juz a matter of 15 minutes my sweat is drippin’ off my body. The most disgustin’ part, spider web is all over my body, from my head right through my waist. I started to curse at the spider, "You stupid eight legged freak". Never aware that, soon they’re gonna curse me for destroyin’ their home=p But yet I still need to say…

"SPIDERMAN, DO YOU KNOW THAT YOU’RE CREATIN’ STICKY GARBAGE EACH TIME YOU SWING FROM A BUILDING TO ANOTHER??? DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH A COMPANY SPENT TO PAINT THE ENTIRE BUILDING???"

LOL!!!!!~~~ Fine, spiderman is innocent. We’re juz on different standpoint. Anyway I go to bathe right away after my job was done. Before that, I really looked like a spiderman, nope, sorry, wrong term. I should say "spiderwebbed man"…

Accident near Arena Green

Friday, September 9th, 2005

Ha, should be posting this days ago, but I was in the middle of something so no mood to write. No doubt I’m officially free from "projects & assignments", meanwhile still have some sub-project goin’ on…that’s life.

Alrite, regarding the accident i witness in front of Arena Green Apartment (Bkt Jalil), kinda serious but luckily no injury. Ok, let me briefly explain ’bout the phenomenon of Arena Green.

  • one car park for a unit - many residents have more than 1 car, so no place to park inside the apartment compound
  • limited visitor parking - most residents use up the visitor car park to park their 2nd car
  • roadside illegal car park - in front of the apartment is a dual-carriage highway, so during nitetime residents will park at the road shoulder, in a beeline

It happened on Tues midnite, when I was on my way back from mamak with my housemates, we noticed that there was traffic police and tow car parked at the roadside. Fine, parking at the road shoulder is illegal, and DBKL has fined most of the cars but yet they still park there, so we juz thought that perhaps the police tows off these cars…LOL!!!..

We were a bit curious but don’t dare to approach them, dunno what’s happening. Thus we went to the staircase and peep on it, noticing a white car was rather extraordinary, a local car, front part looks like Perdana while the rear part looks like Satria. The surrounding cars, instead of parking in a straight line, some of them off the road and up the pedestrian walkway. OMG how bad is this accident. At last we can’t stand to go nearer to "gei poh" (busybody).

Approaching the scene, we saw one of our classmate was there too. Hence asked him ’bout the whole story.

"I was smokin’ at the staircase thr b4 i heard a loud noise, something collided. I looked at the highway and saw a Toyota Harrier hit badly on the Perdana V6, and cause a chain reaction, ended up with eight cars involved. The driver stunned and began to flee. But imagine, such a bad accident, how would the engine survives…haha…the engine totally went off after he drove 4 ’bout 100 meters. He’s a smart guy, he left the car and started to runaway…somehow arrested by a plain clothes policeman"

I looked at the Perdana V6 owner, he’s helpless and juz staring at his car. The Perdana V6 has a direct contact with Harrier. Juz imagine, the rear part (car trunk including partial pessenger seats) of the Perdana V6 gone, as well as the engine. The whole car was trash and I don’t think that the owner’s gonna drive this car again after the insurance claim, well it depends.

Lots of ppl standing there, some are the car owner, and i dunno what’s on their mind. Another group of ppl are the "ranger" who call tow car once the accident took place, juz to get their commission. Others would be "gei poh" ppl like us, and not forgetting those ppl purposely go near the scene trying to see the 4-digits car plate, hoping to strike some windfall…=)

So the moral of this incident is, do not park your car at the roadside. Despite the DBKL officer only starts to work at 10am, but sometimes you will never know how your car looks like the next mornin’ you see it. LOL!!!~~~

But what if you can’t get a parking lot for your car? Juz to be selfish, park your car rite in front of the guard house so that no one can enter the apartment…hahahahha….

My last project of last semester of last course in last education level

Tuesday, September 6th, 2005

Finally…

A long awaited day has finally arrived. Submitted my FYP two weeks ago, I merely felt a transitory relief, but it doesn’t last, my mood revert back to tension and be prepared for upcoming subjects’ project. The project period is lifeless. It can’t be explained in a line or two. Gotta spend a day to write up a bit. nothing interesting but juz a nice experience to share.

Today (should be yesterday cuz after 12) is a remarkable day to remember. It was the submission of my last project in APIIT. Three and a half year there, countless assignments and projects being submitted, but this is the LAST one!!! Strange feeling flash across my mind, felt like life without project tend to be empty. But it juz remains a second and another thought struck me at once - I’M FREE!

Fine, it’s 7 o’clock in the mornin’, juz managed to grasp an hour sleep for the past 2 days, for the sake of my "last project". By the way I juz witness a serious accident in front of my apartment (Bkt Jalil), eight cars involved in a chain reaction. More ’bout it in upcoming post…
